Cosmetic Clinic

Botox Injections

What is Botox?

At our salon based cosmetic clinic here at Polished Nails & Beauty, we provide a spectrum of Botox treatments using the Botulinum toxin, (Botox), which is produced by Clostridium Botulinum bacterium.

This protein derivative of the toxin, when injected into a muscle, causes it to become weakened or inactivated. It stops the muscle from functioning by blocking the neuromuscular transmission, therefore it stops the chemical messages from the nerve to the muscle. The overall result is a reduction or elimination of fine lines and wrinkles around the treated areas.

More about Botox Injections

What can be treated?

We provide a range of Botox beauty treatments to address a range of problem areas. The main area of treatment is the upper face region. This is broadly split into three regions, the crow’s feet/laughter lines, glabellar region (frown lines), and upper forehead region (above eyebrows). More advanced treatments include ‘Gummy smile’ correction, chemical brow lifts (eyelid lifts) and even ‘jaw line’ reduction.

What happens during treatment?

When Botox is used for cosmetic purposes a small quantity of toxin is injected into the facial muscles. Treatment takes only 5-10 minutes to perform.

What can be expected after treatment?

The area may have some slight redness and swelling, which normally resolves within an hour. The treatment normally starts to take effect after 2-3 days with full effects seen between 10-14 days, but this may vary slightly with some individuals.

How long do the effects last?

The effects of Botox will normally last between 3 and 6 months, when you will start to notice an ability to move the muscles more freely.

How much does it cost?

Treatment starts from £129.

Dermal Fillers

What are dermal fillers?

At our salon clinic at Polished Nails & Beauty, we offer dermal filler treatments, which are made from a crystal-clear gel form of hyaluronic acid that is naturally present in the human body. As we get older our body’s natural hyaluronic acid diminishes, causing the skin to get thinner and dryer. Collagen and elastin – the network of fibres that make your skin firm and elastic become disconnected, leading to sagging skin, wrinkles and a loss in volume. Hyaluronic acid fillers hold water, hydrate and replenish the lost volume. They improve your looks by enhancing your profile, creating fuller lips, and smoothing out lines and wrinkles.

We only use dermal fillers with proven effectiveness and safety. The type of filler used can be dependent upon which area is being treated or on doctor/patient preference. The range of dermal fillers used at the clinic includes: Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra and Ellanse.

What can be treated?

Dermal fillers are a versatile beauty treatment that can be used in a number of ways, these include the following:

  • Cheek augmentation (adding volume to the cheeks)
  • Correction for loss of volume and wrinkles over hands, neck and decolletage
  • Correcting unevenness of the chin, nose or improving the jaw contour
  • Depressions and blemishes (acne scars)
  • Lip-enhancement/re-shaping/volumising
  • Marionette lines (the so-called ‘smile lines’ at the mouth corners)
  • Naso-labial lines/folds (corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth)
  • Nose reshaping/lifting
  • Oral commissure or Marionette fold correction (downturned mouth corners often giving the appearance of sadness)
  • Tear Trough Correction (dark eye circles)

What happens during treatment?

During this beauty treatment an extremely fine, short needle is used to inject the filler into the appropriate area. The procedure takes about 10-15 minutes. The dermal fillers used have an anaesthetic (Lidocaine) within them. A topical anaesthetic cream may be used prior to the treatment or a nerve block depending on the area treated.

What can be expected after treatment?

The treatment may cause some slight but brief discomfort, redness or swelling, which normally resolves in an hour or two.

How long do the effects last?

The effects are visible almost immediately and its effects will typically last between 6-12 months. Some longer lasting fillers may last up to 12-18 months.

How much does it cost?

Treatment starts from £175.

Lip Enhancement

What is used for lip enhancements?

As one of Nottingham’s leading cosmetic clinics for Lip Enhancements, we only use a crystal-clear gel form of hyaluronic acid within our lip enhancement procedures. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally present in the human body. However, as we get older the production rate of this acid diminishes, causing a loss of definition in the lips shape and volume.

Therefore, this safe method of lip enhancement is ideal if you want to replace this loss in order to define/enlarge your lips for more aesthetically pleasing results. Our clinic offers an experienced team of professionals to help you achieve the exact look you desire whilst using a natural solution to lip fillers.

We only use dermal fillers for lip augmentation with proven effectiveness and safety:

  • Restylane
  • Juvederm

What happens during treatment?

Prior to the lip enhancement procedure, a topical anaesthetic cream or nerve block may be applied to numb the lip in preparation for the beauty treatment.

An extremely fine, short needle is used to inject the lip filler. The procedure normally takes about 10-15 minutes, and the dermal fillers used have an anaesthetic (Lidocaine) within them.

What can be expected after treatment?

The treatment may cause some slight but brief discomfort, redness or swelling, which normally resolves in an hour or two.

How long do the effects last?

The effects are visible almost immediately and its effects will typically last between 6-12 months.

How much does it cost?

Treatment starts from £175.

Elionce Thread Lift

What is Elionce Thread Lift?

Elionce Thread Lift is a premium thread lift treatment which uses Polydioxanone (PDO) threads to create a natural, fresher and younger looking face. Often referred to as the ’20 minute lift’ due to its simplicity and minimal downtime. The thread anchor points hold the tissue and provide lifting when tensioned. The threads then dissolve, promoting the generation of collagen to maintain the lifting effect and improving skin tone.

What happens during treatment?

A local anaesthetic is administered to ensure the procedure is comfortable. The procedure then involves the insertion of the Elionce thread under the skin via a very fine needle or a specifically designed cannula.

What areas can be treated?

Eyes, face, jowls and neck.

What can be expected after treatment

After Elionce treatment, as with any cosmetic treatment, some slight swelling, redness or bruising may sometimes be observed, but these disappear within days.

How long do the effects last?

The Elionce Thread Lift treatment effects will typically last between 12-18 months.

How much does it cost?

Treatment starts from £400.
